Downtown Sarasota Parking

Update 3/5/2012: The Sarasota City Commission has voted 3 - 2 to cancel the parking meter program in downtown Sarasota, FL. In addition to removing the meters in downtown Sarasota, parking in the new Palm Ave. parking garage will also be free. Signs indicating three hour time limits on parking on Main Street will be installed.
 

The Palm Avenue garage opened in December and offers 743 vehicle free parking spaces, 20 motorcycle spaces and 80 bicycle spaces in the six story structure.

There are also four free solar powered charging stations for electric vehicles (such as Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf) located on the ground floor of the garage.
